The 5/50 Challenge
50lbs of fat, in 5 months flat!
Start Date:
June 19, 2011
June 19, 2011
End Date:
November 19, 2011
November 19, 2011
Objective:
Lose 50lbs in 5 months
Lose 50lbs in 5 months
Why:
Because we have become lazy with exercising and eating habits. We need to get back to the basics. Marc lost 47lbs from July 2009 to his surgery date November 11, 2009 and that was without the band! From July 2009 to January 2010 I lost more than 50lbs and that was with BARELY any fill in my band because they were having trouble accessing my port. I had surgery almost TWO years ago and I have lost 102lbs (well I'm back up but you know what I mean) that is not good enough for me. I need to lose more!

The Rules:
*12,000 minutes of exercise in the 5 months (600 minutes or 10 hours a week)
*On Sunday Mornings we will be taking our pictures to document the 5/50 Challenge
*1 Take-Out meal per month where we can't get the official calorie count, meaning we can eat at Subway or other chain places as long as they have the nutritional information on their website. No take-out from the pizza joint every week because we don't have the exact nutritional info.
*No Soda
*No Pink Slime - youtube it if you never want to eat ground beef again
*No Cookie Dough - again youtube it, that Jamie Oliver is ruining some of my favs!
*Remember, Less Stress = Better Choices
*Marc will be weighing in on the 1st of the month and I will be weighing myself at my nutritionist appointments, next one on June 29th and then July 11th.
*Thursday Throwdown, a weekly challenge to keep us motivated

I love this! I know you'll rock this challenge. :) (Don't you find we all do better when we really put the pressure on ourselves by blogging about it?)
You are going to do SO great Leslie. What a great and motivating challenge. I won't be joining you with this one, because I think I'm going to work on my own "cruise" challenge. I'm giving it some thought. Great job!! Keep us updated. I'm so excited for you.
Great idea, this is awesome! I had already joined another challenge that finishes in September, but I will be working hard with you and following your progress. Good luck!
I will cheering you guys on! :) WOO HOO! you can do it
Rooting you guys on!
10 hours/week?! Are you insane?! I was going to join you until I read that, but I am happy to get 5 hours/week. LOL
YOu are fabulous at making challenges! I'll be Cheering you on.
My motivation button kicked on this morning I think! Lets see if I can get some exercise everyday now!
Great goals! I won't be joining you but I'll be cheering you on for sure!
I know, it's crazy! I think post people do it without even thinking about it! I'm glad we're able to identify it and make good choices!
It sounds like a great challenge. I am almost done with my current challenge which is 50lbs before Hawaii on July 6th.....way to go I will be following you!
You are amazing, girl!! I will be cheering you along. I'm doing my new fitness routine in July and I know I will be needing some cheerleading too. We can do this!!
This is a great challenge, but the 10 hrs a week is a bit much for the exercise. I know I cannot do it with that. Even when I was slamming at the gym I would get 7-8 hours in.
GREAT goals you have set. I know you can do this!! I YouTube'd pink slime... thanks for that. :p Didn't find anything with Jamie Oliver and cookie dough... not sure I want to. lol.
