I've declared 2011 to be the Year of Leslie.
I want to focus on myself, my goals and not worry so much about what people think of me. It's a huge deal for me to post my real weight on this blog but I'm putting it out there. I have to put it out there because I'm not ashamed of who I am or how I got to be this big. I've been working hard to be healthier and I don't want to be worried about friends, family or co-workers seeing my weight. If they have a problem with how much I weigh or what I started out at then that is their problem not mine. Can you remind me of this from time to time?
I have a plethora of goals, rules, resolutions, aspirations, etc for 2011.
Weight Related Goals
*Have monthly eating/exercise goals (treats, time, etc)
*Write down my food intake everyday
*Get back to the band rules for food (portion size, protein, limit slider foods)
*Reach 250lbs on the scale
*Go to the grocery store with a list
*Make menus for dinner each week
Money Related Goals
*Continue to pay off our debts (we have paid off 7 debts since October, granted some were very small but they are gone!)
*Curb needless spending, do not keep up with Joneses!
*Make a savings plan
*Stick to the savings plan
*Do not impulse buy
Personal Goals
*Get pregnant in 2011...at somepoint, don't know when but this year. *Fingers Crossed*
*Launch Etsy Business
*Deal with my stress better
*Be happy with less "stuff", dont' buy things because I'm unhappy or feeling low
*Finish School & Internship
*Do not plan anymore Disney trips for 2011, focus on other things (baby, debt)
*Don't worry about what people think of me
*Think before I yell, I have a habit that when I'm upset I yell first, think later
*Turn the TV off for 20 minutes each night and clean/organize the house
Monthly Food Goals - January
*Eat each of these things ONE time this month
*Lobster, I have an expensive addiction to lobster.
*Fried Food
*Ice Cream
*Chips
*Candy
*Soda - 20oz, the last month I have tried and drank way too much soda. Bad! At least it's been diet soda.
*Chocolate Candy Bar
*3 meals/1 snack per day
*Eat takeout 1x per week - follow food goals!
*Exercise 4x's per week for 45 minutes
I feel good with these rules & resolutions, I think I can really live by them. So far I have eaten the chips for the month and I have been struggling with snacking before bed so I have to work on that.
In other news, I've decided to change from the Medical Assisting program to the Medical Billing & Coding program at school. At this point I have done all the core classes for both programs and I have doubts that I will actually like being a Medical Assistant, I know that I can do the Medical Billing & Coding no problem. I would rather finish with a certificate in someting I know I will like and do instead of taking a gamble on the Medical Assisting. Right now I'm on a break from school, I was going to go back to the Clinical Assisting classes in February but with switching over to the Billing & Coding I won't start back until March 31st. I have a nice little break to really focus on my getting my eating back on track and exercising.

I noticed your blog link back in your siggy on the DIS. YAY for re-comitting! Just before the end of the year I rejoined Weight Watchers because I have gained back the majority of what I lost 2 years ago. It is hard, but we can do it!!!! I struggle with snacking before bed as well-which years ago was NEVER an issue. I've tried to turn to fruit during this time if I have to have something. So far it's working. Good for you for committing to 45 minutes 4x a week on exercise! I just try to do TEN minutes. (ugh) I suck at exercising. I gotta get with it! Your blog is inspiring to me, thank you! :)
I'm rooting with you and Marc on getting pregnant!!!!! YAY!
Big hugs to you my friend, 2011 IS the Year of Leslie!

PS If you live simply for a while and don't keep up with the Joneses, when you are out of debt, you'll BE the Joneses because you'll have enough money to get what you want! As Dave Ramsey says, "Live like no one else does today, so you can live like no one else tomorrow." love that!
Oh-and you still look INCREDIBLE. Don't forget about that! Seriously, amazing girl. You rock!
Thanks Brook! I hate hate hate exercising but I have come to realizes that I'm not going to be able to lose weight without doing more of it.
I read Dave Ramsey's book and while we are not following everything he says, we are doing our own modified version. We made a list of our debts and we cross them off as we pay them off. The list is on our fridge so that we always see it and it's always on our minds. It's a great feeling to be able to cross one of the list!
Just keep on blogging! It totally helps and motivates! YOU CAN DO IT!
Hi! I just found your blog! Love those goals...keep up that awesome planning...you can do it :)
Leslie, your goals and rules sound great. I could stand to adopt a few of those as well.
What kinds of exercise do you typically do?
Leslie, it is so good to see you back here...I was sad when I realised that you had deleted your blog...and was only thinking of you a couple of weeks ago...we have all struggled in our journey and the blog as certainly been a great inspriation....keep up with it.you will get back on track and..This is definitely your year!
